Full Version: Platinum Blow-off Ending?

Guessing the top of a blow-off in a thin market like platinum is more for entertainment value than anything else. However it ties in with the thesis that gold may be in the "process" of making a top here in the 930 to 950 area, probably by the end of this week. The last of a cluster of time squares I'm looking at lines up on 2/15 (plus or minus a couple days).

On the attached charts I've found three different prior waves in the platinum market that all project an expansion in price to the 1960 to 1980 area. Doesn't mean it will stop there, but it's area where it could exhaust followed by a significant breakdown for a couple months or more.

If we blow through the above levels, next Gann projection would be a 100% gain on the 1980 peak of 1045/oz. Obviously, that comes in at 2090.

Cycles are lining up for potential turn (top) sometime in the next two weeks; ideally on 2/15/08, plus or minus a day or two. The 14 period RSI (not shown on the charts) is 88 on the weekly (which is very close to the all-time extreme of 88.61 reached back in 1979). The 14 period RSI on the monthly chart is at 87.19 (well above the previous all-time high of 83.67).

Two of the projections are on the weekly chart going back to 1973. One project to the same area is on the daily chart of more recent price action.

my cycle work for gold has been/is projecting a top the week of march 7, then a larger correction, unless 900 doesnt hold here. dharma

I guess we'll all find out in a couple weeks, but my analysis tells me we could likely dip under 800 in gold by the first or second week of March. Maybe one of us will have a cycle inversion.
